2) Can my IP cameras be connected to the NVR?

This depends on when did you install the IP cameras. Because many old IP cameras doesn’t support ONVIF protocol.

As long as the IP cameras support ONVIF protocol, and the NVR also support protocol, then they can communicate with each other. Means they can work together.

But if the NVR support ONVIF but IP cameras don’t support ONVIF, then you have to purchase new IP cameras for recording.

If the NVR doesn’t support ONVIF but IP cameras support ONVIF, then you also have to purchase new NVR for recording.

ONVIF protocol is very important for NVR and IP cameras.

16) Why 1mbps netspeed is not enough for CCTV online surveillance?

For CCTV online surveillance, normally we have 4ch DVR, 8ch DVR, 16ch DVR, 24ch DVR and 32ch DVR.

For 4ch DVR online surveillance, each channel need around 30KB for upload (sending video data to outside network). 4ch channels need around 120KB for upload. If your internet has only 1mbps normally it means you only have 128KB for download and 17KB~18KB for upload. But each channel need more then 30KB for upload, so 18KB is not enough for even one channel. That’s why you will feel that the DVR online view is very slow and not coming the real-time picture.

This has only one sulotion, that is to upgrade your internet into 2mbps or more. The more mbps you set for DVR, the faster you can see on your mobile and PC.

17) Which router is good for CCTV?

Some routers do not support loop routing.

If the DVR you buy from us has function of P2P (cloud server), then you can use any router for CCTV online view.

But if you want to use DDNS for the DVR (4ch/8ch/16ch/24ch/32ch), then these following routers are best for CCTV:

TP-LINK, CISCO

These following routers do not support loop routing, you may not view the video in the same network:

TOTOLINK, D-LINK, SYS
